Buying Guide: How to Choose the Best Footrest for Short Gamers
Keep these factors in mind when shopping for the best footrest for short gamers.
How much height do you need?
Set your chair so your elbows meet the desk, then measure from the floor to your heels. That gap is the footrest height you need. Many short gamers need 5 to 10 inches.
Platform size
A wider platform lets you shift your feet and sit cross-legged. Make sure it fits between your chair base and the desk legs.
Tilt and rocking
A tilting or rocking platform lets your ankles move, which many people find more comfortable over long sessions. A fixed flat footrest gives the most stability.
Gaming chairs are built for average heights
Many gaming chairs have deep seats and high minimum heights. A seat cushion or footrest helps shorter players sit back fully against the lumbar support.
Extra Tips for Shorter Gamers
More ways to fit a big chair:
- Add a lumbar pillow to reduce seat depth.
- Lower the desk if it is adjustable.
- Use a keyboard tray to drop typing height.
- Choose a footrest with a wide platform.
