Buying Guide: How to Choose the Best 60 Percent Keyboard for Fortnite
Keep these factors in mind when shopping for the best 60 percent keyboard for fortnite.
Why compact keyboards help aim
Smaller keyboards leave more room to swing your mouse, which matters at low sensitivity. Many FPS players use 60% or 65% boards and tilt them for comfort.
Hall effect and rapid trigger
Hall effect (magnetic) switches measure how far each key is pressed. That lets you set the actuation point and use rapid trigger, which resets a key the moment you start lifting it, useful for counter-strafing in FPS games.
Linear, tactile or clicky switches
Linear switches press smoothly and suit fast gaming. Tactile switches have a bump you can feel, which many typists like. Clicky switches add a loud click and are best when noise does not matter.
Keyboard sizes explained
A 60% board drops the number pad, function row and arrow keys. 65% adds arrows, 75% adds the function row in a compact block, TKL keeps a full layout without the number pad, and 96% or 1800 layouts squeeze in a number pad with little wasted space.
Compact keyboard setup tips
Set it up right:
- Place the keyboard so your shoulders stay relaxed.
- Tilt it slightly if your mouse hand needs more room.
- Learn the Fn layer for missing keys before you game.
- Use a short or coiled cable to keep the desk clear.
