Buying Guide: How to Choose the Best Lapboard for Xbox
Keep these factors in mind when shopping for the best lapboard for xbox.
Dedicated gaming lapboards are rare
Several well-known gaming lapboards have been discontinued, so most couch gamers now use a large lap desk with a mouse pad surface plus a compatible wireless keyboard and mouse.
No Bluetooth on Xbox
Xbox does not connect Bluetooth keyboards or mice, so use wired or 2.4GHz receiver gear on your lapboard.
Wireless range on the couch
Most 2.4GHz receivers work up to about 10 meters, but walls and metal can cut range. Use a USB extension cable to bring the receiver closer to the couch.
Lapboard size and mouse space
Measure your keyboard. A tenkeyless keyboard plus mouse needs roughly 24 inches of width; a full-size board needs more. Compact 60% or 75% keyboards fit smaller lap desks.
Xbox Couch Tips
Smooth setup:
- Receiver in the front USB port.
- Add a USB extension.
- Tune mouse in Accessories.
- Check KBM game support.
