Buying Guide: How to Choose the Best Ps5 for Gta 6
Keep these factors in mind when shopping for the best ps5 for gta 6.
Where can you play GTA VI?
Rockstar has announced Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026. It has not been announced for PC or Nintendo Switch 2. Rockstar says physical copies contain a download code rather than a disc, so a disc drive is not needed for GTA VI.
Disc, digital and storage
Digital consoles cost less up front but only play downloads. Disc models let you buy, borrow and resell physical games. Big modern games take a lot of space, so plan for extra storage if you keep many installed at once.
TV features that matter for consoles
For PS5 and Xbox Series X, look for a 4K TV with HDMI 2.1, 120Hz, variable refresh rate (VRR) and a low-latency game mode. OLED and Mini LED TVs handle HDR best. A 1080p or basic 4K TV still works fine for casual play.
Online play and subscriptions
Most online multiplayer on consoles needs a paid plan: PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass Core or higher, or Nintendo Switch Online. Free-to-play games such as Fortnite are an exception. Check the current plan details before you buy.
GTA VI prep tips
Be ready on launch day:
- Free up storage before pre-load on November 10, 2026.
- Update your console and TV firmware.
- Turn on 120Hz and VRR if your TV supports them.
- Use a wired connection for faster downloads.
